Who Inspires You For Change?
The essay should include:
The person's background and early life,
Activities and/or actions that the person took to inspire change,
The person's impact on society,
Why this is inspirational to you,
All aspects of the opinion writing rubric linked below.
Students who wish to participate in the art competition should base their work on the following prompt:
Inspired For Change
Students should:
Use any medium of their choice for their projects,
Ensure the theme is clear to the viewer.
Be creativity, unique, and original.
Consider the balance of color and tone.
Consider what effect the artwork will have on the viewer.
How to Submit
Students have until Feb. 26 to submit their entries. They can either turn them into their teachers, or turn them into the office.
Late entries will not be considered for the prizes.
Prizes
First prize!
First Prize winners will receive an eagle trophy, their choice of school store prizes that are equal or less than 175 wings, and a certificate acknowledging their success.
Runner Up!
Runner Up Prize winners will receive their choice of school store prizes that are equal or less than 175 wings, and a certificate acknowledging their success.
Quality Contribution!
Quality Contribution Prize winners will receive a certificate acknowledging their success.
Criteria for Judging
Essays submitted to our competition will be judged at an age appropriate level based on the following elements:
Interpretation and the clarity of the theme, to the reader.
Inclusion of the aspects described above.
The quality of writing based on the rubric below.
Artwork submitted to our competition will be judged at an age appropriate level based on the following elements of artistic expression:
Interpretation and the clarity of the theme, to the viewer.
Creativity, uniqueness, and originality of the depicted theme.
Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme.
Color and tone. Balance of image within its space.
Overall impression of the art. What is the effect of the artwork in general and as a whole?
Overall, does the artwork stand on its own as a complete and outstanding work of art?
