Welcome!

Hello and welcome to our class website. I am constantly making updates so check back in.

A little about me:

I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Ecology and Evolution and later earned my masters degree and teaching credential at the University of California, Berkeley. I have been teaching for 11 years with this being my 6th as a teacher in Castro Valley.

I feel science is not just a wonderful subject to teach but also an incredible critical thinking tool to be used in all aspects of life, not just those that people typically consider "sciency." In addition to teaching subject matter, I also value empathy and hope that all my students come away from my class with the ability to consider one another' standpoint before making their own judgments.

I hope to have a wonderful year and don't hesitate to check in with me at the first sign of any issues. Students, parents and teachers all make up a team and together we can all make sure that we have a successful year together.
