As an artist who is always interested in the environment around me, I lean towards painting pieces that express the beauty of nature. When I paint, I see things differently. I see details. For instance in a dead plant, I could still pick out the little features that make it beautiful. Through painting, I am able to appreciate the things that aren't appreciated as much normally. My intention for this series is to manipulate colors that capture that specific moment throughout my life.
In each piece, I explore how colors could affect and catch my perspective on nature. Striving to produce colors that help express how I felt during that moment. I also push myself to paint with visual brush strokes to help create a sense of movement. An artist who has sparked inspirations is the impressionist Claude Monet, mainly focusing on the natural light and color. Some questions I ask myself throughout the process are, “How could I depict my emotions in this piece?” or “What features do I want to stand out in this painting?"
