Carpinteria High school students have two pathways to begin earning college credit at Santa Barbara City College while still enrolled in high school: College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) and High School Enrichment at SBCC. Each option has its own eligibility requirements and enrollment process. These college courses allow students to earn units toward a certificate, associate degree, or transfer to a four-year university, and may also count toward a high school diploma or adult equivalency. In addition to academic pathways, some courses are part of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, helping students develop in-demand job skills and earn industry-recognized credentials. This opportunity gives students a valuable head start on both their higher education and career goals.

In CCAP Dual Enrollment, students enroll in SBCC courses offered as part of a College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnership agreement between the Santa Barbara City College District and a local high school district. Classes taught at a high school during school hours are restricted and are only open to students from a participating high school district. Your instructor will notify you if your class is a CCAP course. Students receive both high school and college credit for completing courses in the Dual Enrollment program if the course is offered during the school day only. Students are limited to 15 units per semester.
