Group yourselves: each group should have AT MOST four (4) members.
Find ten (10) instances the members are using mathematics for everyday transactions, or others. (For example, in paying at the counter in the grocery store, or in checking your electricity bill).
Take a picture of those instances.
Compile those pictures in one document. Under each picture, insert a caption explaining (a) what the situation is, and (b) how math was used.
Then, at the end, write a 150 - 250 word essay on how "indispensable" mathematics is in our lives.
The final output should:
a. contain the names of all group members; the 10 pictures and their captions; and the essay;
b. be in PDF format; and,
c. be named "<NAME_YOUR_TEAM> <BLOCK_SECTION>.pdf".
Pictures - 70 points
Relevance (how suitable the pictures and captions are to the topic) - 40%
Organization (how arranged the pictures were assembled in the document) - 30%
Quality (condition of the pictures) - 20%
Creativity (imaginativeness in the presentation of the pictures) - 10%
Essay - 30 points
Relevance (how suitable the essay is to the topic) - 40%
Originality (novelty of the work) - 30%
Creativity (imaginativeness of the essay) - 20%
Teamwork (applies to entire output, evidence of harmony between teammates) - 10%
