In Connecticut, athletes playing high school baseball can’t participate in any legion practices, tryouts or games from the time they play their first high school CIAC league game (March 30 for 2024) until they are personally eliminated from the High School State Tournament.
A. Player age – As per National Rule #2A:
19 & Under Legion Baseball Players Age. 19 & Under American Legion Baseball competition in 2024 is open only to players born on or after January 1, 2005.
Clarification for 19 & Under Legion Baseball
Any player born in 2004 is not eligible to play American Legion Baseball.
17 & Under Legion Baseball Players Age: 17 & Under American Legion Baseball competition in 2024 is open only to players born on or after January 1, 2007.
Clarification for 17 & Under Legion Baseball Any player born in 2006 is not eligible to play 17 & Under American Legion Baseball.
15 & Under Legion Baseball Players Age. 15 & Under American Legion Baseball competition in 2024 is open only players born on or after January 1, 2009
Clarification for 15 & Under Legion Baseball Any player born in 2008 is not eligible to play 15 & Under American Legion Baseball.
Age 13 Legion Baseball Players Age. – See Age 13 Rule 14 for information
Since information on all players must be registered over the internet, as a result of Federal Laws pertaining to sharing information about young children over the internet, any player born in 2012 or after is not eligible to register with National American Legion Baseball in 2024.

B. Professional Baseball Contract – same as National Rule #2C9
U-19: No player may pitch more than a total of 105 pitches per day. A pitcher will be allowed to finish a batter if he reaches or exceeds the maximum limit during an at bat, but must exit the position after that hitter. No player may enter the game as a pitcher unless having fulfilled the required rest days as mandated in the chart below. No player may make more than two appearances as a pitcher in any consecutive three-day period. PENALTY: The pitcher shall be removed from the game, the head coach shall be ejected from the game and serve an additional two game suspension if a protest is filed with the umpire-in-chief before the last out of the game.
