Beyond a rigorous academic curriculum, the Kinesiology department provides lots of hands-on opportunities to prepare you for many career paths, such as a 3 credit internship course which allows you to get 120 hours of work experience at Physical and Occupational Therapy, Cardiac Rehab, Strength and Conditioning, Corporate and Commercial Fitness, and more sites across the Monterey Peninsula.

Corporate Wellness Consultant
Corporate wellness consultants help companies organize, manage, and administer wellness programs. These consultants provide companies with initiatives to motivate employees to establish and maintain healthy lifestyles.
Exercise Physiologist
An exercise physiologist is a trained professional who helps others improve their health. They develop exercise programs and regimens for patients suffering from chronic diseases and also develop exercises to help improve flexibility, body composition, and cardiovascular functions. Many patients who utilize the services of exercise physiologists suffer from lung problems or heart diseases.
Community Health Worker
A Community Health Worker offers interpretation and translation services, provides culturally appropriate health education and information, helps people get the care they need, gives informal counseling and guidance on health behaviors, advocates for individual and community health needs, and provides some direct services.
Community Organizer
A Community Organizer works directly with people in diverse communities, whether they are insured, underinsured, or uninsured, to build teams of leaders who are actively fighting for healthcare justice. They teach patients how to advocate for their health, engage them in legislative and political work, and guide them to lead their communities to participate.
Disability Evaluation Analyst
A Disability Evaluation Analyst is responsible for obtaining and analyzing medical, personal, and vocational information in adjudicating claims for disability benefits under Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income of the Social Security Act.
Donor Services Coordinator
The Donor Services Coordinator contacts active, lapsed, platelet, and occasional whole blood donors to increase the frequency of donations and the number of donors at fixed sites to meet the collections goals.
Ergonomists
An ergonomist works with designers and engineers to ensure a product or service can be used comfortably, efficiently, and safely.
Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives
Pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors employ pharmaceutical sales representatives to inform and educate physicians about their products in the rapidly advancing pharmaceutical industry.
Youth Program Specialists
Youth Program Specialists support developing and delivering safe routes to school, such as bike and walk safety education and other encouragement programs, such as D.A.R.E.
