Faculty Learning Communities 2019-20

The Fall FLC Kick Off took place October 4th! FLC members, applicants, and interested faculty (prospective applicants, the curious, and the hungry are all invited) lunched with the Faculty in Residence and one another to learn about this year's FLCs. The application period is open and the deadline to apply is 10/18. Take a look at the FLC calls and Faculty in Residence Bios to learn more about this year's FLCs!

Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) bring together groups of faculty from across disciplines to discuss pedagogical and or scholarly topics, to collaborate and to develop strategies for enhancing teaching and learning and to grow as teacher-scholars. During sessions facilitated by Faculty in Residence, FLC fellows explore ways to create environments that challenge, excite, and inspire a passion for learning among ourselves and our students. In the process, we foster a supportive community of reflective teachers and scholars.

FLC fellows are required to attend scheduled meetings, typically equivalent to roughly four (4) hours per month during the academic year (dates and times for each FLC are included in individual descriptions) and to attend the Spring Celebration of Teaching (noon on the last Friday of instruction).

To apply: Please send a brief cover letter with expression of interest and possible project you might pursue in your FLC and a c.v. both attached as pdfs to fac_dev@csueastbay.edu and the Faculty in Residence for the FLC. Kindly apply by Friday, October 18th, 2019. (The FLC Kick Off takes place before the deadline to help encourage interest and participation. You are invited to apply ahead of time. In fact, it will be appreciated!)

Compensation for FLC Fellows is $1000.00.
