Caraga State University, albeit a young University, has been always putting premium on the delivery of quality education through the utilization of a responsive and enriched curricular offering that ensures the development and expertise of key domains and core competencies, enhanced University research culture alongside its extensive community engagements, robust capital outlays and sustainable production programs. By and large, CSU is a prime advocate of providing opportunities to individual to actualize their potentials to contribute in the development and sustainability of the country and the welfare of humanity.
As it is committed to propel responsive efforts toward the achievement of its vision, mission, its main strength lies in the effectiveness and efficiency of its human resource.
Ultimately, CSU has gained continued recognition, awards, certified quality assurance and high-level accreditation on regional, national and international fora for its competent workforce, specifically for its roster of excellent faculty as it continuously strives to deliver a maximum level of performance in terms of major areas of concern: instruction, research, innovation, extension, production, and administration.
Henceforth, the University Thrust and Priorities centers and highlight on the building of a diverse and high caliber human resource through robust recruitment and career development support. In so doing, the University is maintaining and providing a framework for helping employees develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities, which shall include, but not limited to, training, performance management, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, key employee identification, tuition assistance, and organization development.
Center to the crafting and implementation of the Caraga State University Cabadbaran City Faculty Development Program is a defined, clear and a goal-oriented framework which provides a blueprint of the University’s commitment to strengthen the competence, knowledge, and skills of its personnel to keep them abreast with the recent trends and developments in their fields.
This plan was succinctly cascaded in the formulation of the College of Industrial Technology and Teacher Education (CITTE) Five-Year Faculty Development Plan. It elaborately defines all the important components that should constitute a plan to ensure the success of its implementation
The Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education in Caraga State University Cabadbaran City has put premium and investment to further strengthen its pool of faculty by providing them with necessary opportunities for upgrading and advancing knowledge and skills.
As deliberant of instruction, research, innovation, extension, and production, the pool of faculty of the program has been a consistently showing their full commitment and passion in the carrying out of their deliverables. Sustainably, the University has been consistently opening relevant opportunities and plans to further their professional development.
As explicitly provided in University plans and programs and highlighted in the faculty development plan, faculty development is centered on achieving the following goals and objectives to wit:
1. To ensure that its faculty members are pursuing graduate or postgraduate studies aligned with their field of specialization by providing support in their efforts to maintain competence in their teaching fields by keeping abreast of developments in their own discipline and in disciplines related to their own.
2. To keep faculty informed and capacitated to upgrade and foster active discussion of developments in their areas of specialization by providing opportunities to facilitate and attend capacity-building activities such seminars, workshops, trainings, and industry immersion.
3. To produce research, extension and innovation- oriented faculty members by providing support for research/extension/innovation projects, paper publication and research presentation in the local/regional, national and international fora.
4. To provide pedagogical support for the faculty’s thoughtful and effective integration of educational technology into the teaching and learning process.
5. To provide support in the involvement with a professional society to increase opportunity to network with other colleagues in industry and practice.
6. To acknowledge and reward faculty of their creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity and productivity, individually or in group for their suggestions, inventions, superior accomplishments and other personal efforts which contribute to the efficiency, economy, or other improvement in university operations, or for other extraordinary acts or services in the public interest.
7. To foster camaraderie, strengthen rapport and cohesiveness by conducting team-building activities, family days and of other similar activities to sustain a professional learning environment thus maintaining and ensuring an environment conducive to the holistic development of the faculty.
In consonance with the goals and objectives, the Faculty Development Plan has its suggested plan of action to clearly paved the expected activities/projects vis-à-vis its objectives.

The Annual RDE ln-House Review shall be conducted at least once within the year. The purpose of the RDIE review shall be to present accomplishments and findings of on-going and completed research from every college. This forum shall also be the venue to determine possible complementation and integration of research findings of related studies and/or for presenting RDIE proposals.
B.1.b. Annual Scitech 4Dev Forum
SciTech4Dev, short for “Science and Technology for Development”, is an annual forum organized by the Caraga State University as a venue where key stakeholders meet and exchange knowledge on the use of Science and Technology for sustainable development. The forum was also aimed to foster dialogue and stronger collaboration as well as to continue the momentum in building R&D-based development networks.

This is a periodic activity wherein all submitted Research and Extension Proposal for the Academic Year will be subjected to the scrutiny of fellows of the University who have specialization /expertise on the subject of the research or extension and writing proposals
A training/Workshop was conducted last December 27-28, 2021 on writing terminal reports and the identification of College Research Goals for 2022.

The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) and the Research & Extension Unit of Caraga State University-Cabadbaran Campus periodically conducts Intellectual Property Management cum Writeshop on Patent Search and Claim Drafting aimed to capacitate our faculty gearing towards innovations and commercialization.

A Three-day Intellectual Property Management cum Writeshop on Patent Search and Claim Drafting on April 18-20, 2018 held at the CSUCC Conference Room.This was participated by the Faculty Members handling subjects related to food technology and those thesis advisers whose research topics are focused on food innovations. The participants were given lectures and hands-on exercises on patent search, invention spotting and claim drafting.

D. Objective 4: The College give pedagogical support for the faculty’s thoughtful and effective integration of educational technology into the teaching and learning process. As such Faculty members are encouraged to produce scholarly outputs that showcase their expertise .Activities that supports development and publication of scholarly works like books, magazines, journals, research articles, monographs, lectures, modules, and instructional materials are being implemented. In effect, a number of this instructional materials are already being processed with the College Committee on Instructional Material Development and to be endorsed to the University Committee on Instructional Material which provides support for the enhancement and enrichment of the teaching and learning materials of the faculty. There are also related capacity building seminar workshop conducted for this purpose.

A. Faculty Development Fund
As the lifeblood of the academe, the University is very consistent in providing support to the continuing professional development of all its personnel . It strives to equitably provide resources for Colleges and units that will enable them to carry out learning and development activities for their respective personnel.
The College in its Internally Generated Fund (IGF), allocates a reasonable proportion of its income to ensure that planned activities relating to human resource development is duly supported to ensure that it will be carried out. The bulk of its budgetary requirement is to provide support for the attendance of its faculty to Trainings, Seminars and Conferences to local, national and international fora. More particularly it provides fund support for those relating to their membership to professional organization. Further, with the intensified thrust and priorities of the University , it also allocates funds for faculty internationalization and global engagements.
In the same vein. Faculty development fund allocates a portion for purposes of reconnaissance, team building and strategic planning activities
Allocated Budget for Faculty Development (IGF)
It can be inferred from the table that there is a substantial and adequate allocation for Faculty Development Activities sourced from the Internally Generated Fund. The bulk of the allocation is for the expenses to be incurred for the conduct of in service training as well as support to faculty who will be attending seminar/workshop for the upgrading of specialization . There is also a budget allocated for the participation of faculty to his/her professional organization .
B. Budget Allocation for the awards and incentives
As explicitly provided in the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Guidelines 2018, the University shall allocate at least five percent (5%) of the Human Resource Development funds for the PRAISE and incorporate the same in its annual Work and Financial Plan and Budget.
In the pursuit of quality service excellence, the University provides more than the basic material and bought in various resources to support and bring aid to its faculty to ensure upgrading and updating of knowledge, enhancement of learning and instructional materials and ease of workload and to aid in the research, extension and production function of the faculty.
These materials come in the form of teaching and learning resources, ICT materials and laboratory equipment.
A.1. Aside from the usual book subscription,purchases of common laboratory equipment the College has been providing updated ICT Materials and Equipment particularly laptops, globe home prepaids to better aid in flexible teaching and learning.
A.1.2. The Campus through an external funding was able to acquire a Sixteen Million Eight Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Pesos grant from a partner agency (Commission on Higher Education) for its Smart Campus Development Facility for Online Teaching Modality which will be allocated for the purpose of upgrading existing ICT infrastructure, acquisition of learning management system and other appropriate equipment to fully implement flexible learning modalities.
A.1.3. The Campus through an external funding was able to acquire a Ten Million Pesos grant from partner agency ( Commission on Higher Education ) for the Material and Resources Laboratory Equipment for Technology Training and Innovation
A.1.4. The Campus through an external funding was able to acquire a Three Million Pesos of Shared Service Facility from Department of Trade and Industry.
A.1.5. The University has also geared towards the creation of research center. Its primary rationale is to foster research on complex, interdisciplinary topics and issues. They are generally created to enhance the University’s visibility within a particular research area, enhanced the faculty’s research profile and to provide an adequate and favorable environment to ensure higher productivity, increased collaboration and more technology transfer.

To be received by a scholar who completes his/her master’s or doctoral program within the prescribed period of study as stipulated in the scholarship contract .
The recipient shall received a Plaque plus 25, 000.00 for PhD and Plaque plus Php 15, 000 for MS
General Weighted Average Award
To be received by scholars whose GPA is at least 1.25 upon completion of the program within the prescribed period of study as stipulated in the scholarship contract.
The awardee shall received a Plaque plus Php 15,000.00
Diploma Award ( Self-funded)
An employee who has finished his/her degree within the specified period of graduate studies on his/her own.
The awardee shall received a Plaque plus Php 10,000.00 for Ph.D and Php 5,000.00 for MS

4. There is a successful Health and Wellness program for all faculty that provides free blood sugar testing, cholesterol and uric acid test twice annually, seminar/webinars that tackles financial literacy and management, mental health and with zumba and fitness sessions.
