The sign for the president’s office, located on the 2nd floor among the other administrative offices. The search for a new person to fill this office began after Dr. Barbara McDonald announced her retirement last May
After serving as President since 2019, Dr. Barbara McDonald announced her retirement in a letter to the College in May of 2025. Since September, faculty and staff have contributed to the presidential search in numerous ways, helping to ensure that the new president reflects and supports the community and our values.
In mid-September, listening sessions were held for the community to learn more about the search process and to provide input. Following these sessions, a feedback survey was opened to all community members to share additional comments and advice. Using the information gathered, the Presidential Search Committee developed a job advertisement, a position profile, and a related set of desired characteristics for the college’s next president.
An additional Presidential nomination form is available on the newly established presidential search website, allowing community members to nominate individuals they believe would be well-suited for the position or who may be interested in applying.
Applications will be reviewed starting in mid-October. Off-site semifinalist interviews will take place in November, followed by finalist interviews in December.
The Board of Trustees plans to select and appoint the new president in the spring, anticipating that the incoming president will take office mid-summer.
