Before the kickoff of Harry Potter Week, a poll was put out that asked students all about their Harry Potter favorites! The poll showcased a wide range of Potter fans!
Question one: What Hogwarts house are you in?
This one was surprising as not a single person said they were a Gryffindor! 60.9% of students that completed the poll were Ravenclaw, 30.4% were Hufflepuff, and 8.7% were Slytherin.
Question two: Who is your favorite character?
This question had many options and many people had different characters favorites! The character with the most fans was Hermione Granger with the popular vote of 39.1%! The second favorite was professor Lupin with 13%. The third favorite character was a three-way tie at 8.7% between Luna Lovegood, Sirius Black, and Dobby! In fourth with a four-way tie at 4.7% was Draco Malfoy, Ginny Weasley, George Weasley, and Professor Snape. Some interesting choices!
Question three: What would your patronus be?
Almost every single person had their own unique patronus. Two people chose a fox, and two people also chose an otter. Other animals include a cat, a dog, a lion, a wolf, a moose, a sea turtle, and many more!
Question four: Books or movies?
This is a common but controversial question. Can you truly be a Harry Potter fan if you haven't read the books? 69.6% thought so. 30.4% thought the movies were the way to go.
Question five: What Harry Potter movie/book is your favorite?
Typically when you ask the average Potterhead what their favorite book or movie is in the Harry Potter series, they tell you it's The Prisoner of Azkaban. Surprisingly, the third Harry Potter installment came in second to Goblet of Fire. Order of the Phoenix was the third favorite and tying at 5th was the Chamber of Secrets and the Half-Blood Prince.
Question six: If you could attend any Hogwarts class, which would it be?
The most popular class was Defense Against the Dark Arts at 30.4%. The second favorite was Care of Magical Creatures at 26.1%. The third and fourth favorites were Potions at 21.7% and Transfiguration at 17.4%.
Question seven: What Hogwarts event would you attend?
For this question there were only three options: The Yule Ball, The Triwizard Tournament, and the Quidditch World Cup. The Triwizard tournament surprisingly won the popular vote at 43.5%! The Yule Ball was second at 30.4% and the Quidditch World Cup followed closely behind at 26.1%
