Guest speakers Matt Hoeschen and Troy Abfelter from TRIO Student Support Services highlight important aspects of their program. Students who are first-generation college students, have disabilities, or meet an income requirement are eligible for the program, which is funded by the government. They lead trips and help support students academically and otherwise. McNair Scholars is a facet of this program that helps students traditionally underrepresented in research opportunities to attend symposiums and present research.
There is a school song contest—the prize is $100 to the Saints Shop.

It was suggested that freshmen meet with their Delta orientation groups after Welcome Weekend is over to check in and continue the supportive relationship.
There is a search for a student to represent the Accessibility Services and Operating Committee.
Maren Ryan, Chair of Student Affairs, is discussing having students in crisis reach out to the Counseling Center via a Google Form rather than email.
The Academic Affairs Committee is planning a proposal for a minor in child development.
President Maddy Ploof updates that color printing is now free for clubs. When printing, you call to release the color printing job, explain that it’s for a club, and it will be released for free. There are color printers on the Science third floor as well as the second floor of Tower.
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee reports on their meeting which included talks about an upcoming sexual assault awareness tabling, the app Fizz, and sporting event accessibility.

Guest speaker President Barbara McDonald spoke about the strategic planning taking place at the College. They spoke with around 700 people about their visions for the college. Now, they’re working to identify major themes in the responses. After this, they plan to set three to five goals for the College to work on in the following year. They are also trying to fill the positions of Vice President of Finance and Vice President of Advancement. The College is looking to renovate the first and second floors of Science.
Guest speaker number two, Dennis Egan, encourages students to reach out to legislators to ask for the funding of the Minnesota State Grant Program to be expanded and to allow students who attend private colleges to access it. This aid program gives financial assistance to one-third of Minnesota college students, but students of private colleges are left out. He also referenced Day at the Capitol on February 19th, which gives people an opportunity to meet their legislators and discuss concerns.
New club alert! Actuarial Society club is approved.
Two students made an unbudgeted request for $1673 to help cover the cost of ski racing for the upcoming semester. The Alpine Ski Club is not an official club, since they don’t have enough people. The financial handbook allows SGA to allocate $1220 but they chose to bypass it and award the full amount.

President Maddy Ploof reports on her meeting with President Barbara McDonald. The Office of International Programming is experiencing staff turnovers. The director is leaving and they are reviewing the postings of two job descriptions. The poster policy around not placing posters in the Student Center remains the same.
The general fund is $102,858 as of this meeting.
