Taiwan-Japan-US Joint Workshop on Energy Materials for Sustainable Development
Introduction of the Workshop
The workshop－Taiwan-Japan-US Joint Workshop on Energy Materials and Sustainable Development－is organized by the College of Engineering of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This joint workshop is fully supported by the Taiwan Ministry of Education program “Ministry of Education Subsides for Universities and Tertiary Colleges to Develop International Bilateral Programs to Jointly Train World Class Professionals” through the grants 105B557 and 106B605 that also support sending 11 NCTU PhD students to UCLA (4) and Tokyo Tech (7) for two years oversea studies with joint advisers from both institutions. There are two memorandums for joint advising of these PhD students between NCTU and UCLA and NCTU and Tokyo Tech have been signed.
There are twenty invited speakers in five sessions, from Sep. 3 to 4. Although the main theme of this workshop is about energy materials for sustainable developments, there are other unique topics that are presented in this workshop. The Joint Workshop provides a platform for the participants from NCTU, Tokyo Tech and UCLA to form network and to exchange ideas with professional peers and acclaimed experts.
