Morell, Gottner, and Jarrett Selected to play in ct senior all star games

(New Britain) – New Britain High School senior student-athletes John Morell and Adam Gottner of Boys Soccer and Raven-Symone Jarrett of Girls Volleyball were selected to play in their sports’ upcoming Connecticut Senior All Star Games, as named by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association.

Morell and Gottner have played every varsity game since their freshman year. Morell, a midfielder, led the Hurricanes with 14 goals and 16 assists this season, including a career-best four-goal game against Bloomfield. Gottner, a goalie, recorded 221 saves in 17 games this year, including four shutouts.

Jarrett earned her third consecutive All-CCC team selection after recording 308 kills, 174 digs, and 50 aces. She has previously earned All-State Second Team selections twice. An accomplished three-sport student-athlete, she also became the first in NBHS Girls Track & Field history to win the CIAC State Girls Heptathlon last spring and was named All-CCC in Girls Basketball last winter.

The CT Senior All Star Boys Soccer Game will be played Sunday, November 24 12:00 pm at Dillon Stadium in Hartford. The CT Senior All Star Girls Volleyball Game will be held the following day Monday, November 25 6:30 pm at Maloney High School in Meriden.
