CSD’s Professional Learning System ignites, equips, and empowers its employees with the knowledge, skills, and ingenuity needed to eliminate educational disparities, strengthen our school system, and address the needs of all students.
CSD defines high-quality professional learning as a continual and collaborative process that results in positive outcomes for all students. In CSD’s Professional Learning System, adult learners deepen and broaden their knowledge and ability through a culture of inquiry that is: accessible, engaging, effective, data-driven, relevant, and action-oriented.
Our Goals for Professional Learning
To support all adult learners in CSD as they acquire and refine the knowledge, skills, practices, and dispositions necessary to create and support high levels of learning for all students.
To provide continuous cycles of learning that involve intentional: preparation, instruction, application, observation, coaching, evaluation, and improvement.
To organize and evaluate professional learning scheduling, prioritization, and facilitation in CSD.
The Department of Professional Learning supports the development of CSD educators' pedagogy and praxis.
