On Saturday April 15th, the Washington Youth Academy is having a family and friends day visit from 9am-4pm. This is a great opportunity to visit our very own Gerald Lindsey who has been there since January and will be finishing up in June. Check with Mr. A for more details

Do you need community service hours for graduation? The Rhody festival needs help! They need volunteers to help at the Farmers Market, Kiddies Parade, Pet Parade, the Trike Races, etc. If you are interested, email Rhodyfest@gmail.com and tell them what school you are from and that you would like to volunteer.
Northwest Pro Wrestling is coming here to Chimacum High School in the gym on Saturday April 22nd! It is $10 for bleacher seats and $15 for floor seats. Tickets will be sold at the door on the night of the event. Check with Mr.A for more details!

If you are age 14 or under, Jefferson County Soccer Club is holding Spring Soccer clinics. The UK International soccer coaches will be supporting JCSC out on the field. These coaches will provide every player with a fantastic developmental spring season. Clinics will run every Thursday in April and May. More information is in the office.

Governor Inslee is deeply saddened by the death of Washington State Department of Corrections Correctional Officer Jay Miller, 52, and directs that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Officer Miller died in the line of duty on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

Salish Rescue is offering a new program for middle school students. Are you interested in learning more about emergency preparedness, search and rescue, basic navigation, radio skills, and safety on the water? If so, this program is available Wednesday afternoons 2-5:30pm from March 1st to May 24th. This class is free

The overnight camp dates are April 10-13 and will require students to miss school. Students are expected to communicate with teachers to make up work and are given time at camp to do homework. Applications are available in the Main Office and are due Friday, February 17. Please remember community service hours are a graduation requirement and this would fulfill that requirement. This is a fun and formative opportunity.

Congratulations to all Boys and Girls Basketball teams on a clean sweep of wins against Klahowya last night! Both teams will move on to play a district game on Saturday. Girls will play in Tacoma against Cascade Christian and boys will play in Vashon. A special thanks to all the fans who came out to support the Girls team for Senior Night!

Tuesday 2/7
Great news! We are starting an after-school tutoring program at CJSHS! Tutors will be available after school beginning this Thursday, February 9th and will continue to be available every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 2:30-3:15 in Room 200. Students who stay for the whole tutoring session may obtain a bus pass to ride the late bus home. We are lucky to have such support from our community and grateful to those volunteers who have stepped up to support our students.

Join Northwest Watershed Institue for the next Dabob Days Volunteer project this Saturday December 17th from 9:00 am-2:00 pm at the Tarboo Wildlife Preserve in Quilcene (2151 Dabob Rd). The project will involve harvesting cuttings from native plants on the preserve to propagate and plant on other restoration sites. This will help to shade out invasive species such as reed canary grass and restore the watershed. As a student leader, volunteers would also help lead parts of the project and guide other volunteers as we spread out during the project. There is a short training with other student leaders from 9:00 am-10:00 am which will include plant identification tips and other information about harvesting cuttings from the plants. December 6, 2022, Governor Inslee has requested that flags be lowered to half-staff in memory of Bellevue Police Officer Jordan Jackson, 34. Officer Jackson was killed in the line of duty on Monday, November 21, 2022, while patrolling on his Motorcycle. He was a member of the Bellevue Police Force since 2018, and leaves behind a wife and two young children. His service will be held December 6th, in Bellevue. Our thoughts are with his family and the Belleview Police Department.
