Assignment 6: Teach yourself something

Before you begin

• Go over the module Skill: How to teach yourself something if you did not attend the lecture on Week 6.

Description

For this assignment you will teach yourself something. 

• Step 1: Identify a technical skill or technical knowledge that you lack from the paper(s) you have read as part of previous assignments. Think: if I was the one conducting this research/writing this paper, what is something I would need to know well? This can be a programming language or framework used in implementation, a data analysis method, a data visualization tool, or fundamental mathematical knowledge. If you are unable to identify something, you can try to look at other papers or discuss with the instructors. In your submission, include a link to the paper and a note about the particular skill or knowledge you will teach yourself.

• Step 2: Identify a resource for learning that skill or knowledge. Include a link to the resource (course webpage, tutorial, video, textbook) in your submission.

• Step 3: Start learning! It might take a while for you to get proficient, but make a point of getting started this week. In your submission, let us know how much progress you have made.
