Dr. Junier Bárbaro Oliva, PI

Junier is an assistant professor in the CS department at UNC-Chapel Hill. He received his PhD in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to his PhD, he also received his BS and MS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ryan Strauss, Graduate Student

Ryan Strauss is a graduate student in the Computer Science department at UNC. Ryan completed his undergraduate studies at Davidson College, where his Honors thesis was in task-aware multi-task reinforcement learning agents.

Siyuan Shan, Graduate Student

Siyuan Shan is a graduate student in the Computer Science department at UNC. Siyuan received his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Beihang University in 2017, where he worked on medical image registration and video text recognition.

Christopher Bender, Graduate Student

Christopher Bender is a graduate student in the Computer Science department at UNC. Prior to coming to UNC Chris spent 5 years at JHU/APL. Chris has an MS in both Electrical (JHU) and Mechanical Engineering (UT Austin).

Yang Li, Graduate Student

Yang Li is a graduate student in CS department at UNC. Before he came to UNC, he received his BS in Biomedical Engineering from Beihang University in China.

Tianxiang Gao, Graduate Student

Tianxiang graduated with an MS from the UNC-Chapel Hill CS department. Before he came to Chapel Hill, he got his Bachelor's degree with honors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2018.
