Vision
1. BRIDGES: CHRISTIAN SPORTS CLUBS SERVE AS BRIDGES CONNECTING THE CHURCH TO THE COMMUNITY. THROUGH PROFESSIONAL TRAINING FOR CHILDREN, SEMINARS FOR PARENTS, BIBLE STUDY GROUPS, AND YOUTH PROGRAMS.
2. FAMILIES: CHILDREN ARE THE KEY TO REACHING ENTIRE FAMILIES. BY PROVIDING TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS FOUR TIMES A WEEK, WE BUILD LASTING RELATIONSHIPS THAT TRANSFORM LIVES.
3. MULTIPLYING DISCIPLES: CLUB LEADERS—MISSIONARIES, COACHES, ATHLETES, AND CHURCH VOLUNTEERS—ARE TRAINED TO DISCIPLE OTHERS. I
4. SPORTS COMMUNITIES: THESE CHURCH-BASED INITIATIVES USE SPORTS SUCH AS FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, AND DODGEBALL TO ENGAGE SOCIETY.
THIS YEAR, WE ARE EXCITED TO SHARE AN ANNUAL REPORT HIGHLIGHTING WHAT THE LORD HAS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH THE ATHLETES IN ACTION MINISTRY IN UKRAINE.
BY THE END OF 2024, WE HAVE ESTABLISHED 6 CHRISTIAN FOOTBALL CLUBS AND 3 SPORTS COMMUNITIES. BELOW ARE THE STATISTICS FOR ALL THE CLUBS AND COMMUNITIES LAUNCHED ACROSS UKRAINE SINCE 2017.
WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO INTRODUCE OUR TEAM, ORGANIZED BY THE SPORTS DISCIPLINES WE USE IN MINISTRY. AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE 7 ATHLETES IN ACTION STAFF MEMBERS, 12 FULL-TIME WORKERS, AND 31 VOLUNTEERS SERVING IN THE MINISTRY.
On the left is information about three leaders of three different sports that we use in our sports community. The three sports are football, basketball, and dodgeball.
Andrii, the leader of the Athletes in Action team, initiated the Sport Kids Community movement, which later evolved into sports clubs. Currently, he oversees the leaders of 9 Sport Kids locations across 8 different cities in Ukraine that we have established. Together, we serve 420 families who attend our Christian clubs four times a week.
Arseniy joined our club at 10 years old, far from God and focused solely on soccer. But after hearing God’s Word at every practice and being part of a community of believing kids, God began working powerfully in his heart. Over time, he started opening up and sharing his struggles with his coach, planting seeds of faith that would later grow. He heard 4 spiritual low every week in our club.
When the war began, we lost contact with Arseniy, but God continued His work. Arseniy became a youth leader at his church in Kyiv. A few months ago, he approached his pastor, expressing a desire to start a Sport Kids community at his church. His pastor encouraged him but advised gaining more experience first.
Now, Arseniy has returned to our club—not as a player, but as a coach and a multiplying disciple, eager to grow in both his coaching skills and his walk as a faithful follower of Christ. Praise the Lord for His work in Arseniy’s life!
