Grace” is a word that is constantly used in connection with God, but what is it? Watch now to find out!
A great song to watch on the lyric video or just listen to the words to remind us that God’s grace is enough.
This game shows how we as humans can be different every day of the week, but Jesus is the same “yesterday, today, and forever”! 6 (or less) students per group. Have each person share 2 or 3 different, truthful things about them: something they did yesterday, something they did today, and (if time permits) something that they will do tomorrow. Let everyone take their turn, one after the next, without interruption. When all the students have shared their 3 “events,” ask one student in the circle to try and accurately recall all the other students’ events. If he/she gets it right, give him/her a prize of some sort. If he/she gets it wrong (and time permits), allow another student to try. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.” (Hebrews 13:8-9) Say, “While we don’t always live a consistent life – as evidenced by some of our personal events we just talked about – Jesus does. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. What He did thousands of years before, He also does today, and promises to do forever.”
Optional Questions:
Is it a good thing or a bad thing that Jesus is consistent “yesterday, today, and forever?” Why?
What are some of the things Jesus has done in the past?
What are some things He’s done recently?
What do you think He’ll do in the future?
In what ways could our lives be more like Jesus’?

This funny illustration shows how ridiculous and destructive it is when we let things like peer pressure and fun lead us into willful sin.

A great 3 minute snippet of a sermon from Francis Chan on the passage of this study. We suggest that you play this video just before the APPLY Questions so it can sum up the Bible passage and set the stage for a good conversation about how it relates to them.
Supplies: Pantyhose/Knee Hi for each group.
Loving other things more than God ruins us. Divide the group into teams of 4. Give each team a pair of pantyhose & explain that they have 2 minutes to place as many personal items as possible into the pantyhose without running/tearing them (for example, wrist watch, wallet, loose change, etc). Each item should be inserted through the waist end of the pair of pantyhose. Declare the team with the most items inside the pantyhose the winner. Variation: Same game blindfolded.
