engaging where you audience lives
Social media is where students live much of their day. A student isn’t going to come to Fall Retreat just through social media, but it can go a long way to reinforcing those other factors that motivate students.
STRATEGIES
Last Year Photo Album
Students want to see themselves at the retreat. This can happen by posting a photo album of last year's retreat on Facebook. Tag everyone. It will create excitement among those who went before and give a chance for new students to get a feel for what it's like and imagine themselves being there.
Tag a Friend Instagram Post
On post inviting students to Fall Retreat (and highlighting a discount) encourage your student leaders to mention those they are inviting with a comment inviting them to join. The key here is momentum. Before you post have some leaders agree to mention others, once the precedent is set others will be much more willing to post.
RESOURCES
Social media is much more effective when you have an engaged audience. Follow these tips for fall launch social media to engage students before you start pushing hard for Fall Retreat.
All the digital assets for banner images, profile pic, ads, announcement slides can be found on the materials page. They can be opened and edited in Adobe Reader

If you're using the Cru Life app for communication in your campus movement then you can leverage it to invite students to fall retreat by sending push notifications to specific groups of students. You can also make info and the registration link very accessible.
SHOULD I ONLY PROMOTE ONLINE?
You definitely should, but don't forget about the value of weekly meeting and promo materials.
