LEAD GUIDE

Fall Retreat

equipping you with an effective vision and SMART goals.

WHAT IS THE LEAD ROLE?

The lead role provides vision, leadership, and direction for the Fall Retreat team.

WHAT IS A VISION?

For Fall Retreat, this is what you and your team will be trusting God to do through this event. This vision should serve as a clear guide for making decisions throughout the planning and executing process.

HOW DO I CREATE A VISION?

First, pray and ask God to reveal his plan for Fall Retreat. Ask for God's will on:

    • How interns and student leaders can be provided opportunities to serve and lead.
    • How staff can lead by faith in a way that gives credit to God so that none may boast!
    • How you can provide opportunities for others to grow and experience life change through clear direction.

HOW DO YOU INSTILL VISION IN OTHERS?

  • Involve your team in the vision creation process.
  • Humbly communicate what you believe God wants to accomplish through Fall Retreat.
  • Confidently speak into how staff and students can be a part of advancing God's kingdom.
  • Refer to the vision clearly and frequently during planning, as well as in execution.

Use this SMART goals guide with your team to build specific goals.

As you craft your SMART Goals, consider creating role specific goals before the Fall Retreat planning process according to their purpose and tasks.

  • Lead | upholding values of servant leadership, faith in God's plan and shepherding people
  • Program | creating an environment that invites the Holy Spirit to move through students lives
  • Operations | exercising responsibility in risk management, policies, and procedures and integrity through transparent spending
  • Promotion | bringing _____ people to Fall Retreat
