As Intervention Facilitator at Hillcrest Elementary, my mission is to find what works for our students. Knowing that everyone learns in their own unique way and at their own individualized pace, I am committed to matching their unique learning styles to their interventions and accommodations so students can meet with greater success.
Focusing largely on academics, behavioral interventions are included in my role, as well. Coaching students on how to better focus, organize themselves and to develop the positive attitudes needed for success is also a big part of what I do each day at Hillcrest. Educating the whole child through academics, behavioral strategies and social and emotional well-being will ensure each child's best chance for success and to become the best version of him or herself.
My daily responsibilities include:
Collaborating with students, teachers and families to ensure student success
Overseeing student interventions
Analyzing data to monitor student progress
Networking with teachers to create plans for student success related to academics and behavior
Conducting 504 evaluations and monitor all students with 504 Service Agreement Plans
MTSS Team Leader
PBIS Core Team Member
I like to say that I am here, there and everywhere throughout the day. My schedule is designed to support students and staff whenever and wherever I am needed.
I am proud and excited to share that I have been teaching in Council Rock since 1994. I began my teaching career at Hillcrest as a third grade teacher, moved to Churchville Elementary where I spent 15 years team teaching and returned to Hillcrest in 2010. My experience in inclusion and passion for thinking outside of the box to find ideas that help kids learn and bring "aha" moments to them has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I am excited to walk on this journey with your child and can't wait for the success he or she will yield.
Personally, I reside in the Council Rock School District and am proud to say that my own children are products of our amazing schools. Together, my husband and I live with our three children: Alyssa, Blake and Taylor in Holland. We have a pretty cool Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Baylee too!
Both of my older children are or have been college athletes. We are a hard working, competitive family who strives to do their best and support each other along the way.
When we have some downtime, we love spending time together in Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
