Mr. Scott's Counseling Site

“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are here and now, and when you get there you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.” ― Masaru Emoto

Dear Coolidge Families,

Welcome to the Coolidge Counseling website!

I am excited to be able to share with you information about our school's counseling program and to assist families in finding the resources they are looking for to help address their children's needs.

John F. Kennedy once said: "Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." I believe that it is our civic responsibility as parents and educators to work hard and take great care to protect and grow this most precious of all assets. Because much of this work happens at school, it is important that we take the time to teach every child the the skills to demonstrate kindness, empathy, perspective taking, positive thinking, emotional management, self-awareness, and problem solving. These are the bedrock upon which great individuals are built.

My hope is that the counseling program at Coolidge can support the holistic needs of every child. Whether it be in teaching classroom lessons about how to get along with ourselves and each other, assisting a small group of friends in resolving a conflict, or collaborating with other stakeholders in devising and implementing an individualized student support plan, I am here to support any and all Coolidge students.

I invite you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns that you believe I can help with.

Be Well!

Thom Scott
