How do I register my kindergartner?
If you currently have students in the District, use your parent portal to register your kindergartner online.
If you have no children in the District, use the link below that says Register Online.
Your child must be five years old on or before September 15 2021 to be eligible for kindergarten.
Required documents for Kindergarten Registration
Proof of Residence
(*This document is required for your student’s registration to be complete*)
Please provide ONE of the following: A current utility bill (such as gas or electric), a current lease agreement or mortgage statement. You may upload your Proof of Residency during the online process or take it to your student's school.
Child's Birth Certificate
Your child must be turning 5 on or before September 15, 2021 to enroll in Kindergarten. You may upload your Proof of Age during the online process or take it to your student's school.
Certificate of Immunization
State law requires evidence of up to date immunizations (or state authorized exemption) in order to attend school. Please upload a copy of your student’s immunization records during the online process OR take it to your student's attending school before their first day of classes.
Do you know your school?
Kindergartners must attend their resident school. If you are unsure what school is in your area, please use the school boundary tool to look up your resident school. If you are still unsure which school your child should attend, please call 319-558-2570 and speak with a registration coordinator.
The 2021-2022 Alternative Kindergarten program will be a full day program that gives a child the opportunity to grow another year before Kindergarten.
