Who Am I?

Nice to meet you!

To introduce myself, I am a young retired para alpine skier who in my spare time loves to be either outside enjoying all Canada has to offer, or in my kitchen where I enjoy trying new recipes! I grew up in Calgary, Alberta and currently reside in Canmore, Alberta.

I completed my Post Secondary Education at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Due to competing internationally as a Canadian Para Alpine Skier at the same time as completing my degrees I had the opportunity to complete online courses with Athabasca University that I transferred to the University of Calgary. Even though I took time off to compete in skiing I was very motivated to complete my education and I will be graduating on time in April 2018 with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education.

In my spare time I use my passion for teaching and love for physical activity to coach skiing, and volunteer at a nearby hospital to help newly injured spinal cord injury patients adjust to there new life. Growing up I competed in Soccer, Cross Country and Track and Field at the provincial and national level. I also played basketball, volleyball, badminton, field hockey, and swim team and I continue to participate in sports recreationally.

I believe in life long learning and I often seek out opportunities to grow myself as a teacher and as a person. This includes attending many Professional Development sessions, or setting goals for myself and attending classes to improve my fitness levels.
