Ms. Kish

I am over the mountains excited to be teaching grade 5 again this year! I have a passion for inclusion which drives me on this wonderful journey of being a teacher. I believe that all students are inquisitive, can succeed, and have a voice. Providing a classroom environment that fosters acceptance and diversity ensures that all students can and will achieve their goals. It is important to me that we have a classroom community where students feel they belong and are comfortable taking risks in their learning. Building a community allows us to respect and support each other through all our struggles and successes, as well as encouraging growth! I absolutely love authentic learning tasks that integrate multiple subject disciplines and utilize the students interests and passions. We will be getting involved with our community as much as we can in order to keep our learning fun, interesting, and real!

My partner Jay and I are parents to the adventurous almost 3 year old - Emma! It has been amazing watching her grow and learn over the last few years. It has also been incredible embracing the challenges and rewards that come along with being a parent. My family has a passion for the outdoors and we try to get out as often as we can pursuing our interests. We love to climb, hike, scramble, canoe, kayak, and camp! Our love of the outdoors has allowed us to partake in some amazing adventures all over North America. It is a passion I love sharing with my little one and hope to bring into the classroom as well!
