Crowley ISD is announcing new grading guidelines that will be used for distance learning during the district's COVID-19 closure. The guidelines include the most up-to-date guidance from the Texas Education Agency, and take into consideration grading decisions made by districts throughout the state.
π¨ Distance learning completed during the 6th six weeks will only help, not hurt, a student's spring semester grade.
βοΈ Courses for high school credit will continue to issue numeric grades.
βοΈ Grades earned during the 5th marking period will not be included in the calculation of spring semester averages.
βοΈ Six grades will be taken during the 6th marking period, which begins Monday, April 13. Teachers will identify which assignments will be taken for grades.
βοΈ All grades will be counted as daily grades.
βοΈ There will be no final exams.
π¨ Distance learning work will be used to monitor student progress, grades will not be issued.
βοΈ Assignments from the 5th and 6th six weeks will not be included in final grades.
βοΈ Pre-K activities will be updated weekly on the districtβs Online Support Center. Non-credit courses (K-8th grade) will assign distance learning work using Google Classroom. Supplemental print materials will be available by request through the districtβs Online Support Center.
βοΈ One priority lesson per content area will be evaluated each week to track student progress. This will result in six total assignments per core content area for the 6th six weeks.
βοΈ Distance learning grades will not be entered in Skyward. Teachers will communicate directly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
βοΈ Students will be given multiple opportunities to demonstrate progress on distance learning assignments.
