"The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginnings in 1921. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in activities of the NHS. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. Territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service."
During the course of the year, members of the Solomon Chapter of the National Honor Society at Moorcroft High School serve as role models for other students. Members have strong academic records which established their eligibility for membership. Many chapter members are leaders in other student and community organizations. We strive to serve our school and community through diverse activities including working at food banks, serving at community banquets and events, conducting community clean-ups and assisting with a variety of school based activities. Additionally, our members also plan and organize service activities year-round, for the school and wider community. We are proud of our accomplishments and will continue to work toward our individual and chapter goals.
