Shellene is a dedicated and results-driven Social Scientist with over 30 years of invaluable experience within the fisheries sector. She is a trained social worker with responsibility for capacity building of fisherfolk groups.Β
Shellene started out at the Jamaica Fisheries Division which later became the National Fisheries Authority of Jamaica. She was the lead organizer of the Abandon, Lost, Destroyed, and Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG) Project implemented during 2019 to 2023. She is also the Gender Mainstreaming Focal Point for Jamaica to the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism.
