In Master Artists students will study famous artists, both old and new. We will learn from those artists to create our own artwork either in that style or using similar techniques. The first artist we are studying is M.C. Escher. Escher was a Dutch artist who combined math and the arts to create very detailed artwork that plays tricks on your mind. He spent a lot of time focusing on tessellations which pieces shapes together kind of like a puzzle or tiles. Students are creating their own tessellation shape and repeating it like a pattern. This project can be very challenging and takes a lot of focus but the end result is rewarding.
