Art Around the World

Art Around the World students finished their last project of the semester. Students learned about the American Pop Art movement that began in 1960. Students studied the styles of two famous artists, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Students had to choose one of these artists' styles to create a Pop Art self portrait. Students began by tracing a photograph of themselves on clear transparency paper and painting it to match their artist. Lastly, students decorated a border to highlight the special characteristics of that artist.
