We're a statewide project supporting educators across New Mexico in bringing Universal Design for Learning to life in classrooms, schools, and districts. Whether you're just getting curious about UDL or ready to dig deeper, we design our work to meet you where you are and support you where you're ready to grow.
Build capacity to move Universal Design for Learning beyond theory and into practice by cultivating statewide relationships that empower educators, develop expert learners, ensure equitable access, and strengthen systems for all students in New Mexico.
UDL isn't one more initiative on your plate. It's the framework that connects the work you're already doing. When you look through the UDL lens, you'll find that many of your existing practices, priorities, and requirements come together in one coherent approach. Less juggling, more impact.
To cultivate motivated, expert learners who assess their own learning needs, monitor their own progress, and sustain effort and persistence, we partner with teachers, students, and districts to:
Co-design flexible learning environments that honor each student's strengths and needs
Create multiple pathways for students to access material and demonstrate what they know
Build in meaningful choices that support executive functioning and self-regulation
Center student passions and interests as drivers of purpose and engagement
Remove barriers through shared reflection and ongoing adjustment
