INTRODUCTION

    Tom Brady gets all the attention because of his seven Super Bowl victories. But over the last twenty years many other amazing and talented quarterbacks have played in the NFL. Two of the best ones still playing today are Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson. But which one is better? Today you are going to find out!  

Career Passing Statistics

     Aaron Rodgers has a total of 59,055 passing yards in his 19 seasons playing football with 231 games for the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets. Rodgers has a total of 475 passing touchdowns.

     Russell Wilson has passed for 43,653 yards over 12 seasons and played 158 games for Seattle Seahawks and 30 games for the Denver Broncos. Wilson has 334 touchdown passes in his career.

Career Rushing Statistics

        Rodgers has a total of 3,466 rushing yards in 231 games with the Green Bay Packers and the Jets. Wilson has 5,307 career rushing yards in 188 games. Aaron has 35 rushing touchdowns and Russell has 29 rushing touchdowns with the Seahawks and the Broncos. 

Awards and Pro Bowls  

    Aaron Rodgers has won 4 MVP awards for the best player in the NFL and he ranks in the top 10 all time. Tom Brady has only won the MVP three times. Peyton Manning has the most MVP awards by winning the award five times. Russell Wilson has never won the MVP award.

     Aaron Rodgers has earned 10 Pro Bowl selections and Russell Wilson has 9 Pro Bowl selections. Aaron Rodgers also won the Super Bowl MVP award in 2010. Russell Wilson has never won the Super Bowl MVP.

     Aaron Rodgers had one of the all-time best seasons for a quarterback in 2011. He passed for 45 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions with a passer rating of 122.5. Russell Wilson's best year as a passer was 2018 when he had a passer rating of 110.9 with 35 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions.

Head-to-Head

      In head-to-head games Russell Wilson has passed for 1,311 yards with 9 touchdowns  and 8 interceptions. He also rushed for  233 yards. 

     Aaron Rodgers has passed for 1,842 yards with 9 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions. Rodger’s rushed for 66 yards. In the regular season matchups Aaron Rodgers' team has won 4 games and Russell Wilson's teams won 3 games.

    In the playoffs they played against each other twice, and are even with one win each.      

Playoffs and Super Bowls

     In his career with the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson's team has won 9 playoff games and lost 7 playoff games. Russell Wilson led the Seahawks to two Super Bowls in 2014 and 2015. The Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVII 43-8 against the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks lost the Super Bowl in 2015 against the New England Patriots 28-24 when Russell Wilson threw an interception on the 1-yard line. 

    In Aaron Rodgers' career in the playoffs, he led the Green Bay Packers to 12 wins and 10 losses. Many of his teams finished at the top of the league during the regular season. But Rodgers only led his team to a Super Bowl in one season, when the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV in 2011.

Conclusion 

     I think Aaron Rodgers is better than Russell Wilson because he has better overall statistics and has won more major awards. In his career, Aaron Rodgers has a total of 59,055 passing yards and Russell Wilson only has 43,653 passing yards. That's a big difference.

     Also, Aaron Rodgers has won the MVP award four times but Russell Wilson has never won it. So that's why I think Aaron Rodgers is the better quarterback.
