Today scientists believe that about 14.5 billion years ago is when the entire universe began! Also scientists believe that about 14.5 billion years back the universe was inside a tiny bubble tinier than the tip of a pen or pencil!

Believe it or not, but about half a million years after the start of the Big Bang the universe was totally different from today. It was a very hot and sticky place made up of tiny particles of matter.
