Drama Club and International Thespian Society
Drama Club and International Thespian Society
NBHS Drama Club promotes students' love of all aspects of theatre, both performance and production. Joining the club allows for those passionate about theatre to connect with like-minded individuals and create a sense of community with similar passions. (Membership in ITS is not a requirement to participate in the Drama Club.)
The International Thespian Society is an international honors society. It recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond what is available through the school and district. Membership is earned and maintained by actively participating in theatrical productions, meetings, and fundraisers. There is a one-time fee of $35 to join. Membership allows students to participate in theatre-related field trips, competitions, social activities, and leadership opportunities. Because it is an honors society, ITS students may earn a graduation cord. In addition, ITS is beneficial to put on college or job applications and may provide scholarship opportunities.

Financial Needs:
From shows to interactive activities in class, theatre is an expensive endeavor. All monies spent in the program must first be raised. Thank you for your financial support of the theatre program.

In addition, we are always looking for sponsorships for shows or our season.
We are also in a campaign for a much-needed sound system for the theatre. We have raised only 25% of the total cost of approximately $20,000.
If you have a business or know someone who might be interested in supporting the arts (and the only CCS high school with a theatre program), PLEASE contact Mrs. Estes.
2025 Banquet
2025 ITS State competition at ECU
ITS members select, prepared, and competed in regionals (hosted at NBHS in January of 2024). Those who qualified with an excellent or superior rating moved to the state level. Students who earned a superior rating at the state level qualified to move on to the international level. In 2025, NBHS had 10 Thespians within 6 acts to qualify for internationals. BRAVO! 👏👏👏
