The Beyond Vision team is highly skilled, trained and knowledgeable in a wide variety of alternative techniques, adaptive devices and assistive technologies for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. We will be covering different topics each month and answering your questions.

SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY WORKSHOP
Join us in-person or online to learn about Social Security Disability Benefits and ask your questions! We will review differences between SSI and SSDI, what information is needed for the application, and how to apply. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and, if needed, can schedule an appointment for additional assistance.

Low-Vision, Visually Impaired, & Blind Accessible Transportation Workshops
Mobility for All & CPWD Present: Low-Vision and Blind Accessible Smartphone-Based Transportation Apps Workshops.
About this event
Mobility for All is looking for visually impaired or blind folks or individuals who work with these communities to participate in a series of interactive feedback sessions to critically evaluate our transportation workshops to make them more accessible to low-vision folks. The workshops teach folks how to use smartphone-based transit applications, including Uber, Lyft, Google Maps, the Transit App, and RTD Mobile Ticketing. Your input will be valuable in creating more accessible workshops for the greater Boulder County Community. We will conduct this project through an inclusive planning process
When? Our workshops will be the third Thursday of every month from 12:00PM – 2:00PM. Here are the dates for those workshops.
October 20th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM
November 17th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM
We will be skipping December due to the holidays.
January 19th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM
February 16th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM
Where? We will be hosting our workshops at the Center for People with Disabilities at 1675 Range Street, Boulder CO 80301. Please let us know if you need transportation assistance to the CPWD office. We can offer RTD bus tickets or Uber or Lyft credits to help get you to the workshops.
Compensation: We will be offering refreshments at the workshops. Please let us know if you have an dietary restrictions beforehand. We will also be providing a $50 gift card at the end of the inclusive planning process for active participants. We also offer Uber and Lyft credits or RTD mobile tickets as compensation, as well as transportation to and from the workshops.
