Open eBooks

Open eBooks are free, but they do not read aloud to students, so students need to pick books they can read independently. The choices include picture books, chapter books, and early chapter books, in English and Spanish.

Download the Open eBooks App

On your CPS iPad, go to Self Service and tap Search in the bottom right corner.
Type Open eBooks in the search bar.
Tap Install next to the Open eBooks icon.

Log into Open eBooks

To log in the first time, you choose to log in through First Book. You will need to enter a code and PIN. You can get these from your media specialist or your teacher.

Pick a Book to Read

Browse the catalog and pick a book to read. Scroll down to see more categories, and tap More to see more books in that category.

Check out a Book

Tap Get once you decide what book to check out.

Read Your Book

Tap on My Books to read your books. Enjoy!
