9th Grade Counselor | Learning Community L + S
Rogette Solomon was born and raised on the island of Jamaica. At the age of 17, she migrated to Bridgeport, CT to live with her father, where she continued to pursue her education. While in high school, she knew she wanted to work with children but did not know what field to go in. During her last year in high school, she worked closely with her guidance counselor and Rogette saw her passion for helping her students. At some point, in life, she realized that she would love to be like her guidance counselor one day. Rogette received her bachelor’s degree from Monroe College in Human Services and later on, she earned her master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University in Education.
During her Master’s program, she got married and moved to Massachusetts. She was determined to complete her program and worked closely with her professors to be able to complete all the requirements. She completed her practicum at West Middle School in Brockton and her internship at Brockton High School. During the last few months of her internship, she was presented with the opportunity to be a long-term sub for guidance, which allowed her to improve her skills as a guidance counselor.
She started working at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in 2022 as one of the 9th grade guidance counselors. She desires to help her students achieve greatness. Her role as a guidance counselor at CRLS has truly been rewarding. In her spare time, she enjoys sleeping, singing, going on dates with her husband and spending time with her family.
