Ultimate Frisbee is a spirited, non-contact team game! Ultimate is usually played with 7 players on the field at a time. Ultimate is a self-refereed game, where players make the calls and value the spirit of the game to maintain fair play.
Ultimate was originally invented in the 1960s in New Jersey, and it has since spread across the country, drastically growing in popularity. Ultimate Frisbee started at CRLS in the spring of 2022 with a girls' team, and boys' and mixed teams were added in the spring of 2024.
In our inaugural season, we had a strong start, with many of our members playing for the first time on an official team. Throughout the season, we saw massive growth, and ended the season at the Boys' and Mixed States tournaments, where we won some games and won the Mixed States Spirit (sportsmanship) award!
During the season, we have practices every weekday at Danehy Park, at 3:45. Captains' practices will start Monday, March 2, at Danehy Field and continue through the next two weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, weather permitting.
Official Practices begin on March 16 from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m.
Practices usually consist of warmups, drills, and lots of scrimmaging.
We have a really fun team, with a very welcoming environment for newcomers and Ultimate veterans alike. Even though we play our hardest every single game, our main goal is always to have fun, and get better every day.
Come to the Spring Sports Meeting on Wednesday, February 25, at 3:10pm to learn more about the sport!
Captains' practices will start Monday, March 2.
Official Practices begin March 16.
