Here is a link to a video on how to tune your violin*. I suggest that you experiment with the fine tuners first, just turning a little bit clockwise, to make the pitch go up, and counterclockwise, to make the pitch go down. Listen to how the pitch changes when you make these adjustments. Be sure to watch the video before trying to tune your instrument.

* Viola and cello players can use this as well, but remember that your strings (from highest to lowest) are tuned A, D, G, C, so you should focus on tuning the three strings that you have in common with the violin (A, D, G) first.
