Entrance Exam: Walnut Hills HS & Gilbert A. Dater HS (Special College Preparatory Program (SCPP) Exam)

Students must pass an entrance examination to enroll in the Special College Preparatory Program (SCPP) at either Walnut Hills or Gilbert A. Dater High Schools.

All Cincinnati Public Schools' sixth-graders take the Grade 6 Iowa Assessments in the fall. In 2019-20, the Iowa Assessments will be administered to sixth grade students between 9/30/19 & 10/11/19.

The percentile rank scores in reading and mathematics will be used to determine eligibility for the Special College Preparatory Program that begins at grade 7 at both Dater and Walnut Hills High Schools. Parents will be notified by the Testing & Assessment Department through U.S. mail regarding student eligibility status. Students may retest at one of the weekend administration dates- see SCPP calendar. Students are permitted two test opportunities per school year.

If a student did not take the Iowa Assessments at their building in Grade 6, is in Grade 7-12, or needs to retest, they may also register to take the Iowa Assessments during the 2019-2020 weekend administration dates.

SCPP eligiblity requires a composite percentile rank of 140, and both reading and mathematics must have a percentile rank of 65 or higher.
