MIXED MEDIA

This course is designed for students interested in exploring a wider range of art materials and combining them effectively. Students will communicate ideas through a variety of materials, including, but not limited to drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and photography. There will be a heavy focus on artists of color, women artists, and other marginalized artist communities. Students will gain understanding of artists' influences, motivations, and processes. In addition, students will become familiar with a variety of artistic strategies and methods. Research will enable students to deal with both conceptual and aesthetic issues with greater sophistication , and in turn, analyze and question his/her own artistic methods.
