DIGITAL IMAGING

(GRAPHIC DESIGN)

This course focuses on experimentation through multiple approaches to digital art-making. Students will create art using digital art tools, primarily Adobe Creative Suite. For the first semester students will create art using Photoshop and for the second semester students will delve into Illustrator. Throughout the course of the year, students will investigate multiple conceptual approaches to creating digital media. Students will explore approaches to digital photo collage, photo editing, illustration, animation, and beyond. Students will gain proficiency and confidence using a multitude of tools in each program to create artwork that may be used for a portfolio review. Students will also engage in discussions about contemporary artists and graphic designers, as well as artist critiques and written reflections on their work.
