AP 2D DESIGN
2-D Design is for students interested in an advanced and focused study in all forms of 2-Dimensional art, and possibly other art forms as well. Students will develop a portfolio that demonstrates a mastery and exploration of concepts of their choosing through artistic investigation.
In 2-D design students will explore multiple approaches to two-dimensional mediums and processes, such as collage, photography, graphic design, textiles, drawing, and painting. For the AP 2-D Design exam, students will digitally submit a portfolio with a written artist statement for evaluation by the AP May due date. Final student portfolios will consist of 10 works showing Sustained Investigation and 5 Selected Works. There will be one summer assignment.
Prerequisites: Grade of B or higher in a previous Honors art course and Art Department review of the student’s portfolio.
