Skill Practice:

Students will work on these in school and at home (Homework).

Weekly Packet-Each week students put together the weekly story packet from their Readers and Writer's Workbook. All reading specific pages are to be completed and turned in by Friday.

IXL Skills- Every week students will be assigned skills.

Absent Work:

Click for Absence Form All work done while a student is absent is still expected to be completed (after an extension). An excused absence does not mean a student is excused from completing the missed work. Students have access to their reading workbook and textbook online. Any handouts/worksheets will be given when the student returns.

Weekly Language Arts IXL:

Students have until Sunday evening to reach 90% mastery for each skill. I provide time for students to work on the skills at school and many will finish before the weekend. Students who go to 100% will receive those points as extra credit. Each skill is worth 9 points in grade book. You will see the weekly grade as a total of 9 x (however many skills are assigned that week) in points.

Weekly Assessments

Students take the following assessments on Fridays:

Weekly Reading Test

Vocabulary Quiz

Skill Quiz

Students can login to Readtheory.org to build their comprehension skills and reading endurance from home. Students can also go onto their PearsonRealize.com accounts to access the Reading textbook. They can review their answers and scores for the following grade book entries: Selection Tests, Weekly Comprehension Checks, vocabulary quiz and Skill of the Week Quizzes.
