My name is Liana Ramirez. I am was born and raised in Santiago de Cali, Colombia where I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I first arrived to the United States in 1991, and I worked as a mental health therapist for 14 years here in Chicago. During this time I decided to pursue my master’s degree in community counseling at Northeastern University. In 2005 I began to work at Calmeca, but back then we were McKinely Park and have worked here since. I am a Certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Subsequently, I hold a school counselor certification. Here at Calmeca my mission and commitment with the Calmeca community is to give students support and guidance in all domains to necessary to become future leaders in our world.
I have two amazing children my daughter Cecilia and my son Sebastian. I am married to my wonderful husband who also teaches in CPS as a PE teacher. You can see a picture of them to the left. I know that this is a difficult year for all of us but I am here to support you and your families in any way you may need!
