My name is Liana Ramirez. I am was born and raised in Santiago de Cali, Colombia where I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I first arrived to the United States in 1991, and I worked as a mental health therapist for 14 years here in Chicago. During this time I decided to pursue my master’s degree in community counseling at Northeastern University. In 2005 I began to work at Calmeca, but back then we were McKinely Park and have worked here since. I am a Certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Subsequently, I hold a school counselor certification. Here at Calmeca my mission and commitment with the Calmeca community is to give students support and guidance in all domains to necessary to become future leaders in our world.
I have two amazing children my daughter Cecilia and my son Sebastian. I am married to my wonderful husband who also teaches in CPS as a PE teacher. You can see a picture of them to the left. I know that this is a difficult year for all of us but I am here to support you and your families in any way you may need!
Mi nombre es Liana Ramírez soy de Santiago de Cali, Colombia donde recibi mi primer titulo unversitario en Psicología. Yo llegue a los Estados Unidos en el año 1991 y tuve la oportunidad de trabajar durante 14 años como terapeuta en el área de salud mental. Me considero una persona que está en constante aprendizaje y es por esto decidí completar la maestría en Consejería Comunitaria en la Universidad Northeastern. En el 2005 hasta la fecha empece a trabajar en Calmeca que anteriormente era conocida como McKinely Park . También obtuve mi licencia como consejera profesional (LPC); mi certificación como consejera a nivel nacional (NCC) y finalmente completé la certificación de consejera escolar. Mi misión y compromiso con la comunidad de Calmeca es la de ofrecer apoyo y guiar a los estudiantes en todas sus dimensiones para que puedan ser los líderes del mañana en una sociedad de continuo crecimiento y cambio.
Tengo dos hijos increíbles, mi hija Cecilia y mi hijo Sebastián. Estoy casada con mi maravilloso esposo, quien también enseña en CPS como maestro de educación física. Puedes ver una foto de ellos a la izquierda. ¡Sé que este es un año difícil para todos nosotros, pero estoy aquí para apoyarlos a ustedes y a sus familias en todo lo que puedan necesitar!
