Lane Tech Autonomous Team
Lane Tech is a large selective-enrollment high school in Chicago, IL, with students in grades seven through twelve. Lane places a particular emphasis on the technological aspects of a modern education and currently has the largest Computer Science (CS) department of any high school in the nation. The CS department offers 12 different classes and teaches approximately 1,600 students each year. The Lane student body comes from all over Chicago and has the economic and ethnic diversity consistent with the city’s population.
The Lane Tech Autonomous Team is in its second year. The 20 members of this year’s team reflect the overall diversity of the school population. For the 2018-2019 school year, the team plans to compete in the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Challenge at Rose Hulman University in Indiana and in the BotBall autonomous robot competition at Loyola University in Chicago.
