LUC-CPS-CCA Professional Learning Partnership

Loyola University Chicago Center for Science and Math Education (Loyola CSME) is partnering with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and the Center for Curriculum Analysis (CCA) to create a sustainable 6-8 Amplify Science Professional Learning (PL) Program. Coaches and specialists from Loyola CSME and CPS received Amplify certification training and serve as site-based experts and PL facilitators for this project. This expertise, combined with the power of CCA data, will support the program of 6-8 CPS Amplify Science PL. The work of this professional learning partnership is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Upcoming 6-8 Professional Learning

August 24th-26th - Skyline Science 6-8 Unit-Specific User Groups

These 1-hour synchronous sessions will focus on an identified instructional strategy for each unit. Participants will collaborate around best practices to support students' learning. CHRE, equity, and DL/EL support will also be leveraged tin every session. Participants will engage in 30 minutes of asynchronous prep work around the instructional strategy in the unit before attending the session. This hybrid synchronous/asynchronous session is an alternate path to the fully asynchronous 90-minute unit specific Amplify sessions.
