To ensure proper device functionality, and protect the information security of our users, all CPS Chromebooks must be kept in strict compliance with the guidelines below.
Chromebook Compliance Checklist:
Device is properly enrolled in cps.edu.
Device is updated to the latest Chrome OS version approved by CPS.
Device model has not passed its AUE date.
Chromebook devices have a pre-determined Auto-Update Expiration (AUE) date, after which the device is no longer eligible for Chrome OS updates. Once a Chromebook model has passed its AUE date, it is no longer compliant for use.
Common Chromebook AUE dates are listed below. AUE dates for other models can be found on Google's support site.
It is recommended that non-compliant devices be disposed of by opening an e-recycling ticket at support.cps.edu.
